Continuing my view of Lincoln Marsh through time, I visited this local treasure a couple of weeks ago to see how it changed since I last documented, in early April. Here’s the complete set and some highlights:
It has been very dry spring, but when you live on a marsh, there’s water to be had. In early April, the water was crisp blue, the vast reeds were brown, and the trees had sprigs of green:
Here in early summer, the water is green from algae, the reeds are bushy green with brown roots, and the trees are filling out:
In fact, brown has been swapped with green everywhere:
There is more life and food in the water.
And there are different blooms:
It’s the differences that make a difference.
