Here's a couple updates to this side Web site I've got called "Demolition Hold List, Chicago, IL". This site monitors this City of Chicago Web page and republishes info from there in a way that allows for tracking of possible demolition of historically significant buildings.
It's been a pretty quiet year, basically– just three entries since January 1. They recently posted an updated to the controversial St. Boniface site at 1358 W. Chestnut / 921 N. Noble. Apparently they haven't found anything they can do with the building yet ("new application due to inactivity; application for this address
previously released 9/2/09 and the City continues to work with the
Archdiocese to find viable reuse options to preserve the building").
I also updated my little Update Scanner hoo-ha to let me know when the new page is updated. The city launched a new Web site and now publishes the current info over here.
Thanks very much to the cadre of people who comment and post updates on the Demolition Hold List site. Keep it coming!
