NYC Weekend Bridge and Street Closures – August 15-16

The following streets in Manhattan will be closed from 7:00 am to 1:00
pm on Saturdays through August 22 for Summer Streets: Centre Street
between the Brooklyn Bridge exit and Reade Street; Lafayette Street
between Reade and 9th Streets (west side); Wanamaker Place (east
side)/4th Avenue between 10th and 14th Streets; Park Avenue between
14th and 72nd Streets; 72nd Street between Park and 5th Avenues.


Vehicles traveling into Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge will be
diverted from the Centre Street exit to either the FDR Drive or the
Park Row South exits from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays through
August 22 due to street closures for Summer Streets. For vehicles going
to Brooklyn, all entrances to the Brooklyn Bridge will be accessible.

The 145th Street Bridge over the Harlem River will be closed Saturday
and Sunday from 12:01 am to 7:00 am for testing of electrical and
mechanical equipment and operation of the movable swing span.

The right northbound lane of the FDR Drive is closed to traffic from
14th Street to 20th Street until Tuesday, August 18 to facilitate
roadway repair work.

The FDR Drive southbound entrance ramp at East 71st Street will be
closed Sunday from 1:00 am to noon to facilitate crane operation.
Motorists should use York Avenue to the East 63rd Street entrance ramp.

Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan
will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a
pedestrian mall.

Mulberry Street between Canal and Broome Streets and Hester Street
between Mott and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan will be closed from
11:00 am to 6:00 pm Friday through Sunday until September 1 for a
pedestrian mall.

135th Street between St. Nicholas and 5th Avenues in Manhattan will be
closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday for the Harlem Week
Festival.

Clove Street between Howard Avenue and Narrow Road North on Staten
Island will have one lane in each direction maintained from 8:00 pm
Friday to 6:00 am Monday to facilitate final roadway restoration. This
work will also occur the weekend of August 21-24. Motorists should plan an alternate route.

The following streets will be closed on Saturday:
– 46th Street between Queens Boulevard and Greenpoint Avenue in Queens
will be closed from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays through August 29
for Sunnyside Shines BID Weekend Walks.
– Van Duzer Street between Beach and Wright Streets in Staten Island
will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturdays through August 22
for Van Duzer Summer Streets.
– Water Street between Broad and Fulton Streets in Manhattan will be
closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Seaport Community
Coalition-Water Street Festival.
– 6th Avenue between 14th and 23rd Streets in Manhattan will be closed
from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the 23rd Street Association/St. Ceciles
6th Avenue Festival.

The following streets will be closed on Sunday:
– Shore Boulevard between Astoria Park South and Ditmars Boulevard in
Queens will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays through
August 23 for Astoria Park Alliance-Water Walks.
– 7th Avenue from Central Park South to 42nd Street, 42nd Street from
7th Avenue to the West Side Highway, and the West Side Highway from
42nd Street to West Thames Street in Manhattan will be closed from 6:00
am to 11:00 am  for the NYC Half Marathon.
– Madison Avenue from 41st Street to 23rd Street in Manhattan will be
closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Indian Day Parade and Festival.
– Madison Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets in Manhattan will be
closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Workmen's Circle Street Fair.
– Nostrand Avenue between Empire Boulevard and Clarkson Avenue in
Brooklyn will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Nostrand
Avenue Merchants Association Festival.
– The following streets in the Bronx will be closed from 11:00 am to
6:00 pm for the National Association of Ghanaians Parade: Formation:
Crotona Park East between Charlotte Street and Claremont Parkway.
Route: Claremont Parkway between Crotona Park East and Crotona Avenue;
Crotona Avenue between Claremont Parkway and Crotona Park North.

The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times
of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed longer to
allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally
permitted to begin set-up at 8:00 am and breakdown must be completed by
7:00 pm.
