New Restaurant? Sprout, 1417 W. Fullerton, in the old Via Due Wine Bar | Gino's Pizza space, originally uploaded by juggernautco.
It looks like there's a new restaurant planned for the West DePaul area, and it might be called "Sprout".
Sprout LLC, an Illinois corporation, applied for a liquor license for Consumption on premises — incidental activity at 1447 W. Fullerton. This is a common license for a restaurant that serves food.
I went by there today and saw that the previous restaurant at that location– Gino's Pizza– was closed, even though it received a liquor license in April of this year that runs through 2011. (Thanks, EveryBlock!). Before Gino's, it was the Via Due Wine Bar.
The location is right next to Via Carducci at 1449 W. Fullerton, where they recently received a building permit relating to HVAC contractors.
As you can see from the picture above (more here), there is a small courtyard in front of the stone facade building.
There's also some work going on at the really interesting building just south of the location. that two-story building has some cool brick work and windows on the top floor and a world of glass block on the first floor frontage. Not sure if they are going to combine the two places or not.
