As I go about my daily life, I often look at the surroundings in the context of, "what would this place/ area/ resource be like on the day after a natural disaster?" I like to plan ahead; game things out. I don’t do it with a sense of dread of foreboding– I take life a day at a time. I do it partly out of practical planning and partly out of internal mental entertainment.
Anyway I was walking down Chicago Avenue east of Milwaukee and there’s the Empire Cooler Service. Relatively large operation, all bricks and glass block, fortified with fencing. Not much residential nearby to clamor. Probably generators inside to fire up the coolers after the bang.
Upshot: Good place to hide out after the apocalypse. Bring your freezer goods. More Ice Haven shots here.
