So over the weekend we trekked over to
Logan Square
for a little bit of winter fun. First we went on Saturday night and then again on Sunday. When we got there, we were treated to what appears to be a weird public art show.
The installation consists of brightly colored crab and lobster-like creatures strategically placed around the square, with a central outer space-type home base pod in the center of it all. At the top of the short flight of stairs is a Rocky-like creature who seems to be in control of the scene.
The creatures are made of wood and have a Lego-like chunk quality to them.
On Saturday night (just after the 1-inch snow drop) the paint was still wet, and it seemed that we all got there just after the initial installation. When we returned on Sunday at about 2 PM, we saw the addition of a set of lawn chairs arrayed in a circle. Each had a balloon attached to it w/ a name on it. Perhaps these are the artists.
Excellent art.
