Community Alert Attempted Kidnapping/Child Abduction 12400 Block of South State Street 005th District
About This Crime
On September 7th, 2008 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a 15 year old female was walking in the 12400 Block of South State Street when a male white offender driving a blue car drove past her and returned. The offender parked his car, exited and approached the victim. The offender then grabbed the victim’s arm but the victim was able to escape and call police.Offender Information
The offender is described as a male white, 40 – 49 years of age, 5’01-5’05, 210-240 pounds, unknown eye color, with gray hair and a gray moustache. The offender was wearing a blue button down shirt, gray dress pants and black dress shoes.Offender’s Vehicle
The offender’s vehicle is described as a blue newer model sedan.What You Can Do
- Be aware of this situation and alert your neighbors.
- Call 911 to report any suspicious person(s) or activity in your neighborhood.
- If possible, don’t let children walk alone and instruct children to stay within well lit areas.
- Identify safe havens along your child’s route such as schools, businesses, trusted neighbors and friends’ homes.
- Find out how to start a Parent Patrol or Walking School Bus Program at your child’s school.
