So I have been uploading stuff to Google Video for a while now and here’s how I use it.
- For art: It gives me an outlet for a dumb little type of art I’ve been doing for a few years now: Car Music. Basically, if something comes on the radio that is either really interesting on its own (a cello rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, for instance) or that intersects in some way with the atmosphere (where I’m driving, the weather, etc.)
- Family goofiness: it’s a good place to put bits of family history
- Contribute unique video to the world: I have a crazy take on a car accident where the car was split in half and some moving images of the old Sun-Times building being demolished
One of the great things about
Google video
is that you can hide things in plain sight. I highly doubt that any of my uploaded video will ever make their Most Popular page, so I can pretty much treat it like an intranet.
