Yesterday we had a short, violent storm circa 2:30 PM on the north side of Chicago. From what I’ve heard of descriptions of microbursts, the sudden down-streams of wind, it seems like we had one.
There were a lot of overturned garbage cans, roofing material debris, and seeds-scattered-aplenty.
This was not an extended wind gusts-type situation. There was one huge burst that sent debris flying in an up-and-down fashion and the rest was just normal basd storm-type.
No word yet from any media/ weather types, but it seemed like a microburst to me.
