On Monday, I took the day off. It was my 18th anniversary of sobriety. I used the time to work on an image collage, which is a new (to me) form of art that I’ve been working on since I got an iPad Pro.
Here’s an explication, clockwise from the upper left:
- The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. The founding text of my recovery
- Gibsons. Had dinner with a brother
- AA logo. Went to the central service office (CASO), bought an 18 year coin
- Detail of Arte Agora piece purchased on State Street— man in inner tube with stogie and cup
- The number 18
- Photo of Soho House roof while I worked on this piece
- Detail of Arte Agora piece by Tay. Woman holding gun
- Central Camera logo. Went there to pick up black and white prints from nearly a year ago
- Sketch of coffeepot pin purchased at CASO
