Congressman Luis Gutierrez Can’t Get Service in a Sprint Store, Either

So, against my better judgement, yesterday I took my kids with me to the Sprint Store on the corner of North, Milwaukee, and Damen. I get in line. I look in front of me, at the counter,  and see a frustrated man dealing with the “customer service representative”. This store is notorious in my circle for being completely useless re: service, so I wasn’t surprised to see another upset consumer.

I was surprised, however, to see that it was Illinois Congressman Luis V. Gutierrez who was beign frustrated. I look up at him and give him the, “hey I know who you are” sign and he smiled back. I said, “hello, Congressman”. He was polite back. He then turned his attention back to the woman providing inferior service. To make a long story short, he wanted to see a particular phone, and suggested she take it out of the box. She retorted that one cannot take the phones out of the box. She failed to tell him (or show him) that they were all available out on the sales floor. She was more interested in reciting the policy re: not opening boxes.

He got freaked, asked for her name, and said she would be hearing from him. As he’s walking out, I said, “hey, this is our Congressman”. He said forget it, don’t tell her, forget it.

I assume he’ll be at the march today. Hope he’s got a working phone.
