This is good.
The new Netscape.com, which is now in beta, is a Digg clone + human editors. See NYT story here for further explanation. Basically this takes the good stuff from Yahoo! News (actual humans deciding what stories run, not mute algorithms Google News-style) minus the rancor of digg (at least until the nasty-community types ride in). The anchor comments give the feel of structured, moderated, adult discussions.
I think there’s lots of room for stuff like this.
