The 145th Street Bridge over the Harlem River will be completely closed
on Saturday and Sunday from 12:01 am to 7:00 am to permit continued
testing of electrical and mechanical equipment and operation of the
movable swing span. Motorists and pedestrians may use adjacent bridges.
Stone Street between Coenties Alley and William Street in Manhattan
will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through November 30 for a
pedestrian mall.
The following streets will be closed on Saturday:
– Park Avenue between East 128th Street and East 129th Street in
Manhattan will be closed northbound Saturday and/or Sunday from 8:00 am
to 6:00 pm to facilitate Con Edison construction activity.
– The following streets in Brooklyn will be closed from 11:00 am to
6:00 pm for the West Indian Children's Day Carnival and Parade: St.
John's Place from Kingston Avenue to Franklin Avenue; Franklin Avenue
to President Street; President Street to Brooklyn Museum.
The following streets will be closed on Sunday:
– Stanton Street from Allen to Ludlow Street in Manhattan will be
closed from 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Sundays until September 13 for the
Lower East Side BID Weekend Walks.
– Myrtle Avenue between Clinton Avenue and Emerson Place in Brooklyn
will be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays until September 27
for the Move About Myrtle Weekend Walks.
– 6th Avenue between 42nd and 56th Street in Manhattan will be closed
from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Brazilian American Cultural Center
Inc-Avenue of the Americas Festival.
– Broadway between Waverly Place and East 14th Street in Manhattan will
be closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Greenwich Village Chamber of
Commerce-Broadway Street Festival.
The following streets will be closed on Monday:
– Lexington Avenue between 34th and 42nd Streets in Manhattan will be
closed from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Manhattan East Community
Association-Lexington Avenue Festival.
– The following streets in Brooklyn will be closed from 11:00 am to
6:00 pm for the West Indian American Day Carnival and Parade: Carnival:
Eastern Parkway between Utica Avenue and Plaza Street East. Parade
Start: Eastern Parkway and Howard Avenue. Route: Eastern Parkway from
Howard Avenue to St. John's Place; St. John’s Place to Flatbush Avenue;
Flatbush Avenue to Empire Boulevard.
– 30th Avenue between 29th and 41st Streets in Queens will be closed
from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the 30th Avenue Business Association
Street Festival.
The times listed for closures for street fairs are for the actual times
of the street fairs themselves. The streets may be closed longer to
allow for set-up and breakdown. Street fair organizers are generally
permitted to begin set-up at 8:00 am and breakdown must be completed by
7:00 pm.
