I visited Albuquerque, New Mexico in May of this year for an all-boards meeting of Voqal. Here’s a complete set of 218 pics and some text on this city on my first visit.

Route 66 runs through the center of town. People are obsessed with Route 66.
It’s called Central Avenue.
Apparently the Slush Puppie brand is still a thing.
They have their fair share of cool signs.
Lots of cities like murals. I’m not the biggest mural person— I prefer the crisp expression of architecture.
One afternoon I rented from the local bikeshare, managed by Zagster, and took a spin.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception is great.
Then I biked over to Old Town, where there was a concert of Western music. Great stuff.
On Sunday I rode up to the Nob Hill Business Center, a super-cool mid-century mall designed for cars.
It is on Route 66 coming in to town, which makes it a perfect spot for old school motels.
I spied a hand-painted Einstein’s Bagels window along the way:
Since I’m from Chicago, the Google Maps elevation indicator is usually nothing to me, but I learned quickly that is was kind of a climb up Central Street, which is kind of a highway. So on the way back to the hotel down Martin Luther King Drive.
