So I was going to see a client in Lake County, IL and I stopped at a McDonalds. I parked next to a pickup truck. I get out of the car and see eight hoofs sticking straight up.
Dead deer. The hunters/ McDonalds customers were just com ing back to the car with their gathered meals.
I asked if I could take pictures. They had unceremoniously dumped plywood on top of the dead deer, presumably to stop them from flying out.
Hunting is fine, don’t get me wrong. It’s the context that is a little odd– Tuesday morning before work. At McDonald’s. Bloody carcasses in pickup, flat warm potato items in cab.
We– homo sapiens, that is– are weird.
