Today we took a long walk in Humboldt Park. I had been to the Formal Garden with Dee before, and driven through there many times, but never took the time to really stroll the joint. It was stunning and plain. Jarringly different and no big deal.
One thing I loved was the idea of a prairie river, which popped up all over the place. The long smoothness of the boat house. The odd performance space in front of the field house. The shabby pomp of the formal garden.
Here’s the whole set of 90 images. All hail Jens Jensen, who let us walk in his art today.
